Our printable paperwork is very detailed to ensure you receive as much information as possible to assist you in making your decision whether Miss Royalty International is the right fit for you.  Please click on the "Information" link at the top of this page to download that detailed paperwork, and most of your questions should be answered.  However, some of the more common questions that we are asked are shown below.

IS HAIR AND MAKEUP ALLOWED?
For Junior contestants ages 4-12, minimal, age appropriate makeup is allowed, especially for stage competitions.  Always err on the side of caution ... our judges are Miss America type judges, and they are not used to seeing big hair or makeup on children.  Especially in interview, where the judges will see the contestants up close, little to no makeup would be best.  On stage, a little blush or lip gloss is fine.  Look at the photos of our winners and on facebook; you will see that little to no makeup is used on the little ones.  For older girls in the 13+ Miss pageant, hair and makeup is fine.  These are teenagers and young women, and it is age appropriate for them to have hair and makeup, tanning, etc.  The key is to look natural, so the judges don't look up and say "look at her makeup" ... you want them to say "look at her!"

IS INTERVIEW PANEL-STYLE OR INDIVIDUAL ("ROUND ROBIN")?
Interviews are panel-style and are 2 1/2 minutes long.  You will be seated during your interview.

ARE AD PAGES REQUIRED?
No.  We have an optional ad sales title (International Cover Girl), but it is not required.

DO YOU TELL HOW MANY/WHO ARE IN MY AGE DIVISION?
No.  Please don't ask.

ARE POLITICAL OR CURRENT EVENTS QUESTIONS ASKED IN INTERVIEW?
No.  Judges initially get to know you, as a "starting point," from your responses to questions asked on your registration/entry form.  This keeps them from being completely blank when you walk into the room, and provides them with a basis from which to begin talking to you.  They may or may not continue to ask you questions from your bio as the interview progresses, but they are instructed not to ask political or current events questions.  The interview is not a test of your knowledge, but rather a way to interact with you personally to learn your personality, comfort level, and conversational ability.

ARE MOMS ALLOWED IN INTERVIEW?
No.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE ACTIVITIES BEFORE AND DURING PAGEANT WEEKEND?
In addition to the typical activities of registration, orientation, rehearsals, competitions and crowning, we have a contestant gift exchange, decorated tshirt contest, social media challenge contest, Awards Dinner, party with prizes, candy buffet, selfie station, raffles, and dancing.

IS THERE A FALLBACK DATE FOR AGE DIVISIONS?
No, you enter the age division that is equivalent to your age on the first day of International Finals, i.e. August 19, 2016.  There are no fallback dates.

CAN I PURCHASE EXTRA MEAL/ADMISSION TICKETS AT THE PAGEANT?
Admission tickets will be sold at the pageant, but the preferred Gold ticket seating always sells out before the pageant.  These are seats that close to the stage.  General admission tickets will be sold at the door.  Meal tickets must be purchased in advance because the hotel needs a total count in order to purchase the correct amount of food.  We give the hotel the final count two weeks before the pageant, and no meal tickets can be purchased after that point.
